Club History

Welcome to the Swiss chapter of the Alumni Club of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan!

The club was founded on July 7, 1998 by one of the most energetic promoters and supporters of the Michigan Business School, Beat Geissler, MBA ’95 and fellow alumns at an event at the restaurant / hotel Widder in Zurich, Switzerland.

Founders included alumns Roger Reise, MBA ’95, Anton Hoefter, MBA ’95, Rudolf Kühn, MBA ’84, Alexander Albani, MBA ’99, Alain Held, MBA ’99 and honorary founding members were (the deceased) C.K. Prahalad, Professor for Strategy and Gunter Dufey, Professor for Finance and Robert Kinnear, Professor of Marketing.

While the club still is small and hasn’t enjoyed many activities in the last couple of years we are now striving to re-ignite the activities and grow the Michigan community in Switzerland. Our goal is to also promote the first class university and attract many more Swiss to get their first or second degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Once again, welcome and hope to see you soon

Alain Held, MBA ’99
